VIDEO: Lightning players pranked with third jersey design

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:43 p.m. ET

The Tampa Bay Lightning revealed their new third jersey Saturday as part of their Fan Fest at Amalie Arena.

But players got a glimpse of the jersey a little earlier -- or so they thought.

Several members of the Lightning were given a peek of a jersey that featured rows of palm trees stitched on the bottom and on the sleeves. A design, it turned out, that was meant purely as a prank.

Some players, like Radko Gudas, seemed to take a liking to it. Others were not impressed.
