Twins release 2017 schedule, open at home on April 3

The Minnesota Twins announced their schedule for 2017 on Wednesday, and will open the season at home on April 3 with a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals, followed by a lengthy road trip.

The Twins will play 20 interleague games in 2017, including their annual interleague home-and-home series with the Milwaukee Brewers Aug. 7-10, with the first two games at Target Field.

Their interleague schedule also features home games against the Colorado Rockies (May 16-18), Arizona Diamondbacks (Aug. 18-20), San Diego Padres (Sept. 12-13), and road matchups with the San Francisco Giants (June 9-11) and Los Angeles Dodgers (July 24-26).

The Twins will also host a pair of holiday matchups.

They'll host the Houston Astros for a Memorial Day series (May 29-31) and the Los Angeles Angels on the Fourth of July.

The Twins are set to face each of their four rivals in the Central Division in three road series and three home series, for a total of 19 games each.
