'Madden 16' predicts Panthers top Broncos 24-20 in nailbiter after mounting 17-0 lead

Madden NFL predictions have proved remarkably accurate since EA Sports began conducting simulations in 2004, correctly picking the winner in nine of the past 12 Super Bowls. Most recently, "Madden 15" got the exact score for Super Bowl XLIX, when the Patriots edged the Seahawks 28-24 in a thriller that ended with Malcolm Butler's stunning goal-line interception.

For Super Bowl 50, "Madden 16" likes the Carolina Panthers, current 5.5-point favorites according to the latest Vegas odds.

In the simulation (video above), the game unfolds similar to the Panthers' 31-24 Divisional Round win over the Seahawks that began with the Panthers taking an early lead but then having to hold on in the second half.

If the simulation is correct, Broncos wideout Demaryius Thomas is going to beat All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman in the back of the end zone for a go-ahead score in the fourth quarter. We suspect that the clip will find its way onto Batman's pregame, pump-up reel.
