Kobe rejects hug attempt by courtside fan who desperately wanted a squeeze

The Los Angeles Kobes visited Memphis Wednesday night, with Bryant tallying 13 points, two assists, a steal and one block on a hug attempt by a female fan sitting courtside who really, really, really wanted to hug him.

It's not for those of you adverse to awkwardness:

Ahh, Kobe. She flashed a beaming, ear-to-ear smile, used good form with her arms out wide, maintained eye contact, stood up, turned square to face him... everything. Apparently he was only in a fist bump mood.

At least she went for it when the opportunity presented. We've seen at least one Kobe-fan exchange this season that was more awkward:
