J.R. Smith's prank could end up costing him

New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith may have gotten a laugh out of untying Shawn Marion's shoe, but it could end up costing him.

The NBA is now investigating the incident, according to the New York Post, citing a league source.

While Dirk Nowitzki was attempting free throws in the second quarter of Sunday's game between the Mavericks and Knicks, Smith was seen pulling the lace of Marion's shoe.

Cameras caught him in the act in Dallas, but Smith tweeted that he does it all the time.
