Harvick (sort of) reveals picks on NASCAR Hall of Fame ballot
As the reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, Kevin Harvick was one of the 57 voters responsible for choosing the next class to enter the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
So how did Harvick vote on Wednesday when Bruton Smith, Terry Labonte, Curtis Turner, Jerry Cook and Bobby Isaac were announced as the five members of the Class of 2016?
"My list of inductees, there were four out of the five (actual inductees) on there," Harvick said on Thursday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. "Listening to everything, I felt like they were going to be some pretty obvious choices."
Smith, the founder of Charlotte Motor Speedway and longtime Speedway Motorsports Inc. chairman, was the top vote-getter among the five new inductees whom will be formally enshrined in the NHoF in January.
"The part that I'm looking forward to the most is hearing Bruton Smith's acceptance speech," Harvick said. "That's going to be the most entertaining part. There's some great inductees in this class, but I think his speech will be awesome."
