Durant prefers Shaq's 'Kazaam' over his own 'Thunderstruck' movie

In the cinematic debate over whether "Kazaam" or "Thunderstruck" -- both starring NBA greats of their era -- is a better movie, some might say there are no winners. But one of the stars, Kevin Durant, isn't afraid to answer the question.

In a move to perhaps be humble, Durant said he prefers the 1996 classic "Kazaam," which stars former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal playing a genie, over his own silver screen debut, according to TMZ.

The idea of a 7-foot-1, 325-pound rapping genie who emerges from a boom box after being trapped for thousands of years might sound ridiculous. But it did earn $18.9 million at the box office, compared with Durant's tale of a boy who accidentally steals his basketball talents, which earned only $587,211.

Durant might have sworn off acting for good thanks to the box office flop, but he may want to reconsider. The popular movie rating website RottenTomatoes.com gave "Kazaam" only a 6 percent rating from critics with a 19 percent "like" rating from viewers. Durant's "Thunderstruck," on the other hand, received 20 percent from critics while scoring a whopping 70 percent on the audience vote.
