DraftKings MLB Picks: Top Bargain plays for September 21st (7:00 PM Only)
Finding value is the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail” in Fantasy Baseball. Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to offer a handful of players that could give critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB picks.
Tonight’s slate features 12 games, with a few teams projected to score five or more runs. Texas and Chicago have the best team totals at 5.6 runs, followed by Detroit (5.2), Baltimore (5.1), New York Mets (5), and Boston (5). Similarly to last night, Pittsburgh has a few cheaper players that are under priced. Here are my top bargain plays on DraftKings, for tonight’s slate.

Andrew Benintendi – BOS (OF) – $2900
Andrew Benintendi is ridiculously under priced and in a great match up against a righty. Benintendi fares much better against righties with a .422 wOBA and a .237 ISO split. Boston should be able to put up runs tonight, and I’ll have Benintendi in most of my lineups on DraftKings tonight.
More from Fantasy CPR
Josh Bell ($2900) or John Jaso ($3500) – PIT 1B
Hopefully you were on Josh Bell last night, as he went for 11 DraftKings points. Bell should be upgraded again, as he’ll face another righty tonight. Bell is much better option than John Jaso, but both will be in play.
T.J. Rivera – NYM (2B/3B) – $3100
T.J. Rivera has been solid throughout the month of September and should be a good bet to continue it tonight against the Braves. Rivera has reverse splits, where he holds a .437 wOBA and a .279 ISO split against righties. We’ll be looking to roster Rivera if he’s batting sixth or higher.
Chris Coghlan – CHC (2B/OF) – $2800
Chris Coghlan will be a cheap option tonight at both second base and in the outfield. The Cubs are projected to score 5.6 runs and if Coghlan is batting near the top of the order, he’ll be a solid value play. While Coghlan has struggled this year, he will face a righty tonight. I wouldn’t expect much from him, but he should benefit from the high-powered Cub’s offense.
Others Players to Consider: Hyun-Soo Kim, Jay Bruce, Carlos Gomez, Matthew Joyce
Note: Keep in mind that recommended DraftKings MLB picks are based off of early information and will be subject to change as lineups are released. Some cheaper players are more suspect to be scratched from the lineup or bumped down the lineup order.
