DraftKings MLB Picks: Top Bargain plays for September 19th
Finding value is the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail” in Fantasy Baseball. Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to offer a handful of players that could give critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB picks.
Tonight’s slate features 10 games, with four teams projected to score over five runs. The Cardnials and the Rangers have the highest projection at 5.9 runs, followed by the Cubs (5.8), and the Rockies (5.7). Pricing will be tight as there are a handful of high-priced batters, as well as high-priced pitching options. If you’re looking to pay up for the likes of Kershaw, Syndergaard, or Bumgarner, here are a few bargain players you should consider.

Delino DeShields – TEX (OF) – $3700
As mentioned, Texas has one of the highest team totals on the slate and Delino DeShield should be a beneficiary. DeShields has reverse splits, where he holds a .310 wOBA split. He doesn’t have the home run upside you may be looking for in a tournament, but he is effective at getting on base. He also has some stolen base upside.
Hyun-Soo Kim – BAL (OF) – $2800
Hyun-Soo Kim has seen a significant price drop, as his upside has been capped of late. However, he’s in a good spot to rebound as he’s facing a righty, at home. Kim holds drastic splits, with a .379 wOBA against righties. With his cheap price, he won’t need to do much in order to reach value.

Tommy La Stella – CHC (2B/3B) – $3400
Tommy La Stella will have some value as the lead off hitter on a team projected to score 5.8 runs. It will be important to monitor the Cub’s lineup card, because if he isn’t batting in the top five, he’ll be significantly downgraded.
Yadier Molina – STL (C) – $3200
There are a few cheap options at the catching position tonight, and Yadier Molina is one of them. The St. Louis offense will get the added benefit of hitting in Coors Field. With a team total of 5.9 runs, if Molina is batting fifth, he’ll be in play. Molina will face the lefty, Tyler Anderson, where he holds a .341 wOBA split.
Albert Almora – CHC (OF) – $3300
Albert Almora was called back up to the big league club earlier this month and has played well. He’ll be facing a righty, which may not be the best spot for him, but I’d look for the Cubs to pour the runs on Cincinnati tonight and if he’s batting near the top of the order he should be in play.
Note: Keep in mind that recommended DraftKings MLB picks are based off of early information and will be subject to change as lineups are released. Some cheaper players are more suspect to be scratched from the lineup or bumped down the lineup order.
