David Mantle on Mike Trout: 'Like Dad, he's got all the tools'

Few have risen to the top of Major League Baseball faster than Los Angeles Angels outfielder Michael Nelson Trout.

In the three full seasons of which Trout's played, he's been an All Star three times, won three Silver Slugger Awards to go along with being named American League Rookie of the Year in 2012 and American League MVP in 2014.

Yeah, he's pretty good. Some would say he plays a little bit like the great Mickey Mantle, and that someone is his son, David Mantle.

"Like Dad, he's got all the tools," David said in a video posted to MLB.com.

It's one thing for someone like you or me to mention Trout in the same conversation as the former Yankee great, and it's another thing entirely when the words are uttered by the son of the former Yankee great.

Not a bad comparison for a kid who isn't 24 years old. Not bad at all.

The Angels currently are playing a three-game series (TV coverage on FSWest) with the Yankees in the Bronx, just across the street from where Mickey used to roam the center field grass of old Yankee Stadium.
