Cardinals to open training camp on July 29 in Glendale

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday that preseason training camp will begin Friday, July 29, at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.

The Cardinals will hold 16 open practices through Aug. 26, including the "Red & White Practice" on Saturday, Aug. 6.

They will travel to San Diego for a week's worth of joint practices with the San Diego Chargers prior to their preseason game against the Changers on Aug. 19.

Following the team's third preseason game at Houston on Aug. 28, it will return to its Tempe practice facility to continue preparation for the Sept. 11 season opener vs. New England.

The complete camp schedule is as follows:

Friday, July 29: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 30: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Sunday, July 31: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 1: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 2: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 3: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 4: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 5: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 6: Red & White Practice, 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 8: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 9: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 10: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 12: Preseason game vs. Oakland, 7 p.m.

Week of Aug. 15: Joint practices with San Diego Chargers in San Diego

Friday, Aug. 19: Preseason game at San Diego

Sunday, Aug. 21: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 22: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 24: 2 to 4:30 p.m.
