Bucs' Vincent Jackson not concerned about trade rumors

TAMPA, Fla. -- Vincent Jackson won't let trade chatter affect him.

Jackson, a three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, said Thursday he's happy as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and hasn't heard anything that would hint at an impending move. An NFL Network report published Sunday suggested that the Bucs have received calls about the 10-year veteran's availability in advance of the NFL's trade deadline at 4 p.m. ET next Tuesday.

"In this business, those kind of things get talked about quite often," Jackson said. "Each and every year, there's going to be guys that are moved around to different teams. I'm not surprised by it. Obviously, I appreciate, I guess, the teams' interest. But I'm happy here in Tampa. I've heard nothing here that would suggest that I'm going anywhere. So I'm just going to let that pass on and keep doing my job."

Jackson, 31, leads Tampa Bay with 344 yards receiving and two touchdowns on 25 catches this season. He has produced at least 1,000 yards receiving in five of the past six seasons, including the last two since joining the Bucs before the 2012 campaign.

Still, it's reasonable to wonder about how much his skills may decline with age. He has been targeted 60 times this season and has committed three drops, according to SportingCharts.com. He signed a five-year, $55.56 million deal with Tampa Bay after spending the first seven seasons of his career with the San Diego Chargers.

On Monday, Bucs coach Lovie Smith said the Bucs aren't actively making talent available.

"We like our football team that we're going with, that we have here right now," Smith said then. "We're not trying to shop any of our players."
