Week 5 of the 2016 fantasy football season is nearly here. What can we expect from running back Matt Forte against the Pittsburgh Steelers?

New York Jets running back Matt Forte has done well by his fantasy football owners so far this season. After signing with the Jets in the offseason, Forte has quickly proven that he still has a lot of good football left in.

The matchups for Forte haven’t been ideal, but he has still produced. As a great dual-threat out of the backfield, Forte showed what he can still do in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the close loss to the Jets, Forte totaled 96 rushing yards and 59 receiving yards.

Forte followed up the strong first week of the season with a monster game for fantasy football owners in Week 2. In the Jets’ only win against the Buffalo Bills this season, Forte totaled 100 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.

Since then, the Jets’ offense has looked really poor, and Forte has had a hard time finding his groove. After a mediocre game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3, Forte had what will likely be his worst game of the season against the Seattle Seahawks. In the loss, Forte totaled just 27 rushing yards to go along with a yards per carry average of 1.9.

We will likely not see another performance like that from Forte all season. Week 5 will give him a chance to bounce back.

The Steelers are currently ranked fourth in the NFL in rushing yards allowed, but that statistic is a bit misleading. Due to having leads for a good chunk of their first four games, teams have been forced to throw against the Steelers. Even though they are ranked fourth in total rushing yards allowed, the Steelers allow 4.0 yards per carry.

Furthermore, this means that Forte will likely be able to find some success on Sunday afternoon. The Jets’ offense needs to get Forte going again and look to see a lot of him against the Steelers. Finally, the matchup against the Steelers is a pretty good one for Forte, and he will deliver for fantasy owners.

Projection: 80 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, three receptions, 21 receiving yards.
