Vikings' Adrian Peterson leaves game with apparent knee injury

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson left Sunday’s game against the Packers in the third quarter with an apparent knee injury.

Late in the quarter, Peterson was rushing to the left when his right ankle became caught under a defender. His leg appeared to twist, causing him to go down in pain.

Peterson was helped off the field, putting no weight on his right leg, then off to the locker room.

NBC’s Michelle Tofoya reported that trainers were examining the back of Peterson’s knee.

The 31-year-old had 12 carries for 19 yards, adding seven yards on two catches, before leaving. The Vikings went up 17–7 moments later on a touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs.
