Titans RB Greene starts, has 1 carry after arrest

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tennessee running back Shonn Greene says his lawyer has advised him not to talk about his arrest for allegedly parking in a handicap space in a Nashville suburb, but he's not embarrassed.

''I was told not to talk about it,'' Greene said Sunday after the Titans lost 30-16 to Houston. ''It ain't what it seems to be or what they make it to be.

Greene is free on $2,000 bond with a Nov. 13 court date for driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, failure to stop/halt/frisk and illegal parking in the town south of Nashville. Sgt. Charles Warner of the Franklin police said Greene could have had a parking ticket if he talked to the parking enforcement officer instead of trying to leave in his 2012 BMW M6.

The parking enforcement officer was issuing the citation Friday afternoon on the square in Franklin when Greene approached, Warner said. Greene ignored the officer's request to see a handicap placard, got into his 2012 BMW M6 and sped away, nearly striking the officer, Warner said.

When Greene was forced to stop due to traffic, the officer approached him again to issue the parking ticket, Warner said. Greene sped away again, he said. Greene surrendered to police Friday night after being told a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

The Titans started Greene, but he got only one carry on the team's first play for a yard.

''There is a different version of the story that we've heard about,'' Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said. ''We certainly don't want our team represented in a light like that. We are going to handle it internally.''

Whisenhunt said the Titans would be talking about the issue Monday, but he said the Titans may wait for the Franklin Police Department to take action first.
