Titans LT Taylor Lewan catches TD pass after being left wide open

Published Nov. 15, 2016 1:51 p.m. ET

The Tennessee Titans got off to a great start against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, scoring a touchdown on their opening drive. It wasn’t DeMarco Murray running it in, or Kendall Wright hauling in a pass from Marcus Mariota.

It was left tackle Taylor Lewan running wide open in the flat for his first career reception and touchdown.

The Titans drafted Lewan to protect Mariota’s blind side on Sundays, not catch touchdown passes from him. But who says big men can’t score touchdowns, too?

Lewan, who’s 6-foot-8, 318 pounds, is the first Titans offensive lineman to catch a touchdown pass since 1997.
