Terrell Owens pays back child support
Court documents show former NFL player Terrell Owens has made child support payments he owed to the mother of his 7-year-old daughter and promised to make future payments.
Owens appeared in Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta Thursday. His lawyer and a lawyer for Melanie Smith had drawn up an agreement before the hearing and signed it before the judge.
Smith's lawyer Randy Kessler said Owens made the back payments he owed to Smith and agreed to pay her legal fees.
A previous agreement requires Owens to pay Smith $5,000 a month. Kessler says his client is pleased with the result and glad to have a signed agreement.
The 38-year-old who's known as T.O. played 15 years in the NFL, most recently for the Cincinnati Bengals during the 2010 season.
