Security at new Minnesota Vikings stadium increased in wake of breach

Published Jun. 22, 2015 3:04 p.m. ET

After Scott Heins found his way into the Minnesota Vikings' new stadium and shared photographs of the construction progress in a Deadspin.com article titled, "An Illicit Tour Of The New Vikings Stadium," the Associated Press reported over the weekend that security around the stadium will be increased.

Heins described his entrance into the construction site as "shockingly easy" in his article for Deadspin.com. The senior vice president of stadium builder Mortenson Construction, John Wood, on the other hand, described the act of publicized trespassing as "illegal and very dangerous," according to Marino Eccher of the Pioneer Press.

The AP report says Wood's construction firm and the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, a group overseeing the stadium project, are pursuing legal action against Heins.

The Vikings' new home is scheduled for completion in July 2016.
