Saints first-round pick Sheldon Rankins reportedly suffers broken fibula


New Orleans Saints rookie defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins, the No. 12 overall pick in the draft, had to be carted off the field Monday at practice.
He was injured during goal-line drills, according to The Times-Picayune.

Several reports are calling the injury a broken fibula.

Rankins, 22, had 14 sacks in the past two seasons for the University of Louisville. The rookie had been off to a strong start in camp, highlighted by his interception of Tom Brady during joint practices with the Patriots.
