New York Jets safety Brodney Pool is inactive for the team's season opener against the Baltimore Ravens with a sprained right ankle.

Pool, injured in the third preseason game against Washington, is being replaced Monday night by Eric Smith in the starting lineup.

As expected, linebacker Calvin Pace is inactive with a broken right foot, and replaced by Jason Taylor. Guard Vladimir Ducasse, the team's second-round draft pick, is also not active.

Ravens wide receiver Donte' Stallworth, who broke his left foot in the third preseason game, and cornerback-kick returner Lardarius Webb, recovering from a knee operation, are among Baltimore's inactives.
