'Revis Island' now on the map in New England - literally

New England Patriots fans are that special kind of giddy that happens during a great offseason.

Patriots supporters, as glum as could be when standout cornerback Aqib Talib signed with the Denver Broncos on Wednesday morning, were elated Wednesday evening when New England instead agreed to terms with arguably the best cornerback in the league, Darrelle Revis.

Fans quickly made Revis and all his quirks their own, including his well-known “Revis Island” nickname. Everyone from headline writers to everyday fans found a way to celebrate the signing with puns that quickly became more overused than lighter fluid on a New York Jets jersey.
