Last weekend, the wild world of Katy Perry collided with the world of college football, as she appeared on ESPN's "College Gameday" in a hot pink-and-black furry jersey, threw some corndogs on live TV, hit on Oklahoma QB Trevor Knight and later partied hard with Ole Miss students.

Now, Perry is preparing for her encore on the gridiron, but on a much, much bigger stage.

According to the New York Post's Page Six, Perry is slated to perform at the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show, scheduled for Feb. 1, 2015 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., beating out other final contenders such as Coldplay and Rihanna for the coveted Super Bowl slot.

During her appearance on ESPN, Perry blasted a Wall Street Journal report that said the NFL could begin requiring artists to pay to perform during the Super Bowl, which last year attracted about 111.5 million viewers.

"I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl," Perry said.

Well, apparently she won't have to.
