Reid: Chiefs awaiting word on status of safety Eric Berry

Two weeks ago, Andy Reid told reporters that Eric Berry had completed cancer treatments.

Now, the Chiefs coach is waiting to hear word from doctors about the status of his star safety.

“He had a meeting with the doctors,” Reid told the Kansas City Star. “But the initial meeting I told you about was to give him answers about what’s next.”

It'd make for an even amazing story if Berry could return to the playing field at some point. The entire NFL supported his "Berry Strong" campaign when the news broke about his condition.

Reid hinted at a big "end-of-the-year" meeting with doctors, but that meeting has yet to take place. Until then, Reid will be like the rest of Chiefs Kingdom -- waiting anxiously for any news to arrive.
