ASHBURN, Va. (AP) The Washington Redskins have taken Florida running back Matt Jones with the 95th overall pick in the NFL draft after trading down in the third round and adding extra choices.

The selection of the 6-foot-2, 231-pound Jones late in the third round Friday night adds to Washington's picks of Mississippi State linebacker Preston Smith in the second round, and Iowa offensive lineman Brandon Scherff in the first round.

Jones injured his left knee in 2013 and played in only five games, but returned to lead Florida in yards rushing as a junior.

After swapping the 69th overall pick to Seattle for four lower choices, Washington owns two picks each in Saturday's fourth, fifth and sixth rounds, along with one in the seventh.
