Philadelphia, we have a quarterback
Carson Wentz showed us all what a real talent he is Sunday vs. Browns.
Do you remember when the Browns said they didn’t think Carson Wentz was a top 20 quaterback talent? They probably wish they drafted him now after his display Sunday. Wentz put on a show in Philadelphia, giving Eagles fans a glimpse of the future.
Wentz finished the day 22 of 37 for 278 yards and two touchdowns, both of which were dimes to wide receivers Jordan Matthews and Nelson Agholor.
Wentz showed a lot of confidence in his receiving group. He gave them opportunities to make plays and, for the most part, they did.
He was strong, accurate, and poised all day. He stood in the pocket and used his eyes to look off the opposing defenders. After being named the starter just last week, Wentz was doubted by a lot of people, but he displayed his talent and his worth to both the Philadelphia faithful and the NFL in general.

One of the most impressive things about Wentz’s performance was his game sense. Both of the touchdowns passes were audibled into by Wentz. He recognized man to man coverage and exposed it. We heard how smart he was coming out of college and we saw it on display Sunday.
Speaking of his mind, he is a very composed and poised kid. That all has to do with his mindset. After the game, he was quoted saying, “I wasn’t really nervous. I don’t get nervous.” Wentz did not let the first game jitters get to him. That mindset abled Wentz to look like a well-polished veteran at times during the game.
What a debut by the Eagles rookie quarterback. It is crucial that he stays focused and builds off of this brilliant display. However, with the shaky performance by Browns quarterback RG3, you have to wonder what the Browns’ staff were thinking after the game. We all know what we were thinking, the Eagles look to have found themselves a quarterback.
