Panthers go without return specialist Adams

Published Sep. 30, 2012 2:31 p.m. ET

Carolina rookie kick and punt returner Joe Adams is inactive for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons a week after he had two turnovers in a loss to the New York Giants.

Kealoha Pilares is likely to replace Adams at kick returner, and Captain Munnerlyn is the likely fill-in at punt returner.

The Falcons have Jason Snelling at fullback with Lousaka Polite nursing a sore hamstring.

Defensive end John Abraham is starting for Atlanta, six days after his arrested on obstruction of justice charges.
