Cleveland Browns

0-5

Last week: L, 33-13, vs. NELast rank: 32nd

The Browns have a real chance to go 0-16. They also have an opportunity to put 28 guys under center before this season is over.31

San Francisco 49ers

1-4

Last week: L, 33-21, vs. AZLast rank: 31st

San Francisco is all kinds of horrendous, and Blaine Gabbert leads the charge into oblivion.30

Miami Dolphins

1-4

Last week: L, 34-24, vs. TENLast rank: 32nd

Adam Gase is getting very close to Jim Tomsula territory. One and done.29

San Diego Chargers

1-4

Last week: L, 34-31, at OAKLast rank: 25th

At some point, saying you should be undefeated points to how atrocious you actually are.28

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

1-3

Last week: TBDLast rank: 28th

TBD27

Chicago Bears

1-4

Last week: L, 29-23, at INDLast rank: 27th

Chicago isn’t good, but this wasn’t a bad loss. Good effort on the road without so many starters.26

New York Jets

1-4

Last week: L, 31-13, at PITLast rank: 21st

Everything looks bad, especially Todd Bowles and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Playing this brutal schedule doesn’t help.25

Tennessee Titans

2-3

Last week: W, 34-24, at MIALast rank: 30th

Tennessee is a pretty mediocre team, but this is a nice win on the road. Next, Cleveland.24

New Orleans Saints

1-3

Last week: BYELast rank: 24th

New Orleans plays no defense, but it’s fun watching Drew Brees sling it.23

Jacksonville Jaguars

1-3

Last week: BYELast rank: 22nd

Jacksonville has to back up its win in London by going to Chicago and beating the Bears.22

Detroit Lions

2-3

Last week: L, 24-23, vs. PHILast rank: 27th

With the Rams coming to town next, the Lions can get back to .500. Will they?21

New York Giants

2-3

Last week: L, 23-16, at GBLast rank: 20th

The Giants have to stop the bleeding after three consecutive losses. Next up? The Ravens at home.20

Los Angeles Rams

3-2

Last week: L, 30-19, vs. BUFLast rank: 19th

Los Angeles is going to have a tough time beating teams consistently with Case Keenum.19

Indianapolis Colts

2-3

Last week: W, 29-23, vs. CHILast rank: 23rd

The Colts are a bad team, but in this division, eight wins might do the trick.18

Baltimore Ravens

3-2

Last week: L, 16-10, vs. WSHLast rank: 19th

Baltimore is a middling team, but maybe the firing of Marc Trestman gets it rolling.17

Carolina Panthers

1-3

Last week: TBDLast rank: 17th

TBD16

Houston Texans

3-2

Last week: L, 31-13, at MINLast rank: 11th

Until Brock Osweiler begins playing better, this team is a complete fraud as a contender.15

Cincinnati Bengals

2-3

Last week: L, 28-14, at DALLast rank: 13th

Cincinnati can’t afford too many clunkers with such a tough schedule. The Bengals are in trouble.14

Arizona Cardinals

1-3

Last week: W, 33-21, at SFLast rank: 16th

Arizona got a huge win against the 49ers. Can the Cardinals get healthy and finally get rolling?13

Buffalo Bills

1-3

Last week: W, 30-19, at LALast rank: 15th

Buffalo is looking mighty impressive after three straight wins, including two on the road.12

Kansas City Chiefs

2-2

Last week: BYELast rank: 12th

This upcoming date at Oakland will tell us plenty about whether the Chiefs are a contender or a fringe playoff team.11

Washington Redskins

3-2

Last week: W, 16-10, at BALLast rank: 14th

I admit this ranking is with one eye open, but the Redskins deserve it after a gritty win.10

Philadelphia Eagles

3-1

Last week: L, 24-23, at DETLast rank: 6th

Are the Eagles really good, or a decent team that had a tremendous win over the Steelers? Tough call.9

Oakland Raiders

4-1

Last week: W, 34-31, vs. SDLast rank: 10th

Oakland continues to win, but the close calls are a touch concerning. Still, this group is much-improved.8

Seattle Seahawks

4-1

Last week: BYELast rank: 7th

Seattle faces a huge test with the Falcons coming to town. The Seahawks got the bye at a good time. 7

Dallas Cowboys

4-1

Last week: W, 28-14, vs. CINLast rank: 8th

Dallas is the real deal after crushing the Bengals into a fine powder. Ezekiel Elliott is awesome.6

Denver Broncos

4-1

Last week: L, 23-16, vs. ATLLast rank: 1st

The loss is not the end of the world. However, the Broncos better hope that Trevor Siemian never gets hurt again.5

Green Bay Packers

3-1

Last week: W, 23-16, vs. NYGLast rank: 5th

Green Bay can be even better than its been. That’s a scary thought for the rest of the NFC.4

Atlanta Falcons

4-1

Last week: W, 23-16, at DENLast rank: 10th

The Falcons are for real. At this point, how are they not the NFC South favorite?3

Pittsburgh Steelers

4-1

Last week: W, 31-13, vs. NYJLast rank: 3rd

Pittsburgh is on track for the AFC North stronghold after plowing through the Jets.2

New England Patriots

4-1

Last week: W, 33-13, at CLELast rank: 4th

Tom Brady is back. Rob Gronkowski is healthy. Good luck.1

Minnesota Vikings

5-0

Last week: W, 31-13, vs. HOULast rank: 2nd

If Minnesota continues to get even decent offensive showings, it’s the best team in the NFC.
