New England Patriots fans react to Tom Brady giving up on Deflategate

The 18-month soap opera is over. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady announced on Facebook on Friday that he will no longer continue to appeal the NFL's four-game suspension in connection with Deflategate. 

At many times comical, other times confusing and at all times unnecessary, it's over.

"I'm going to work hard to be the best player I can be for the New England Patriots and I look forward to having the opportunity to return to the field this fall" Brady wrote in the posting.

Brady will be out for the Patriots' games against the Cardinals, Dolphins, Texans and Bills. The overwhelming number of people responding to Brady's announcement have voiced support for him and relief that it's over, as well as frustration with the league. Here's a sampling:

Was Deflategate good for anything at all? It was a financial win for Brady's lawyers and for the rest of us, well, there will always be this:
