Michael Bennett gets tossed out of Seahawks practice again for fighting

Published Aug. 21, 2016 9:49 p.m. ET

You can't accuse Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett of not having enough fight in him.

A couple of weeks after being ejected for scuffling with a teammate a practice, the seven-year veteran was at it again Sunday. The latest target of Bennett's anger was offensive lineman Bradley Sowell, who squared off with the Pro Bowl defensive end during one-on-one pass rush drills. The brawl became so intense that the two teammates ended up on the ground.

It appears Bennett lost his cool because he was sticking up for a fellow defensive lineman on the team. A snap after Sowell had thrown defensive end Josh Shirley to the ground in the same one-on-one drill, Bennett got into it with Sowell.

"They've got to learn how to manage that because that stuff is going to happen in a game,'' offensive line coach Tom Cable said, via the Seattle Times. "If you do it in a game you are going to be thrown out and they are going to take your money. So a good lesson for both he (Sowell) and Mike. Both guys are wrong, they've got to learn to do right, and they will do that.''

Earlier this month, Bennett was involved in some extra pushing a shoving with guard Mark Glowinski, leading to Bennett's first ejection this month.
