Jeff Fisher: Rams' starters will see more playing time vs. Titans
Nick Foles' debut in a St. Louis Rams uniform was short-lived, but productive.
The signal caller played two series in the first preseason game vs. the Oakland Raiders before being pulled, finishing his night 3-of-5 for 69 passing yards. On the opening drive, he marched the Rams down the field, before they had to settle for a field goal.
But come Sunday, it appears head coach Jeff Fisher is willing to let the starters see more reps.
“We’re going to increase everybody’s reps depending on the series and things like that," Fisher said, via ESPN. “The one thing that we did get which is really important for us, where we are now, is we got great reps against Dallas [earlier this week]. So as I said, we almost got an extra preseason game. We’ll increase reps, but some guys may play less. We’ll give Nick [Foles] a chance to play a little bit.”
Aside from Foles looking sharp in limited time, the team as a whole was not. The team committed 10 penalties for 75 yards and the offense essentially stalled after Foles left for good.
Fisher noted areas of improvement he'd like to see vs. Tennessee, including the run game, run defense, tackling and penalties.
