Jaguars place TE Lewis, LG Omameh on injured reserve

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 4:54 p.m. ET

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without two starters for the rest of the season after placing veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis and left guard Patrick Omameh on injured reserve Monday.

Lewis injured his right calf in a loss at Detroit on Sunday. Omameh hurt his left foot and will be replaced in the lineup by Chris Reed.

To fill their roster spots, the Jaguars (2-8) activated offensive lineman Josh Wells from injured reserve and claimed fourth-year defensive tackle Jordan Hill off waivers from Washington.

Wells went on IR in early September with a right thumb injury and was designated for return Nov. 1. Hill, a third-round draft pick by Seattle in 2013, appeared in 27 games for the Seahawks before being waived last month. He signed with the Redskins two weeks ago and was waived Saturday.
