Jaguars place leading WR Shorts on injured reserve
The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed receiver Cecil Shorts III and guard Will Rackley on injured reserve.
The Jaguars (4-10) signed rookie center Patrick Lewis off Cleveland's practice squad and promoted guard Drew Nowak to the 53-man roster. They also signed defensive end D'Aundre Reed to the practice squad.
Shorts (groin) and Rackley (concussion) missed Sunday's loss to Buffalo. Shorts has dealt with a groin injury much of the year and will have surgery soon. Rackley sustained a concussion Oct. 27 against San Francisco and was inactive for two games. He returned to the lineup and started three games before feeling concussion symptoms again Saturday.
Shorts finished with 66 receptions for 777 yards and three touchdowns this season.
Without him, Jacksonville likely will start rookie Ace Sanders and Mike Brown against Tennessee on Sunday.
