Jaguars hire Mallory as special teams coordinator

The Jacksonville Jaguars have hired Mike Mallory as special teams coordinator.

Mallory has 27 years of coaching experience, including 22 years at the collegiate level. He spent the last five seasons with the New Orleans Saints, including four as assistant special teams coach and one (2011) as assistant secondary coach.

Mallory also worked at Louisville (2007), Kansas (2006) and Illinois (2001-05). He began his coaching career at Indiana (1986-87) and had stints at Kent State (1988-90), Eastern Illinois (1991-92), Rhode Island (1993-95), Northern Illinois (1996-99) and Maryland (2000).

His father, Bill, was head coach at Indiana, Colorado, Northern Illinois and Miami (Ohio). Mike Mallory's youngest brother, Curt, is the secondary coach at Michigan, and his brother Doug is the defensive coordinator/assistant head coach at Indiana.
