GM Spielman, Vikings have 'a sense of urgency' to put talent around Teddy Bridgewater

The Minnesota Vikings drafted the quarterback they wanted when they traded up to get back into the first round of the NFL Draft in 2014. Now, they will use the 2015 draft to build around Teddy Bridgewater.

The offensive line and depth at wide receiver are areas where the Vikings will look to improve the team around their 22-year-old QB. GM Rick Spielman said that there is "a sense of urgency" to put talent around the former University of Louisville star.

That does not mean that Spielman is solely looking at one side of the ball to help out his second-year QB. According to a Minneapolis Star-Tribune article, Spielman is of the belief that building a strong defense would be just as beneficial to Bridgewater.

"If we get a defensive player, does that help get our offense back on the field quicker? If we get an offensive player, does that help keep our offense on the field?" Spielman told the paper. "We're going to take the best player because I think if you take the best player, it's going to help your offense and it's going to help your defense."

The Vikings have the 11th overall pick in the first round, 45th overall pick in the second round and a 76th overall pick in the third round.
