Donald Trump says the NFL has become 'soft' like our country

Donald Trump is nothing if not a divisive man.

Speaking at a campaign rally, the 2016 Presidential Republican nominee spoke out against the “soft” NFL, connecting the rules of today to the “soft” nature of the nation.

“Football has become soft like our country has become soft,” Trump said, via Pro Football Talk. “Who wants to watch these crummy games?” Trump said, adding that the NFL has outlawed “what used to be considered a great tackle, head-on and violent,” in the days of Dick Butkus, Lawrence Taylor and Ray Nitschke.

No doubt these words stirred up a strong emotion in you, regardless of which side of the fence you’re on.

Folks who agree with Trump want their country and their NFL game to remain raw and violent, while those who would oppose this message would prefer to err on the side of caution.

Then there’s the whole issue of concussions and what they do to the human body, but that's just science.

This is the power of Trump, whose strong views have gained plenty of supporters and detractors alike.
