Indianapolis has added bulk to its offensive line by signing guard Ben Heenan from the CFL.

The 6-foot-4, 316-pound lineman was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 CFL draft. He played three seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders after graduating from the University of Saskatchewan, where he played guard and tackle.

Heenan has started 49 of 52 career games, including all 21 last year, when he helped the Roughriders capture their fourth Grey Cup title in franchise history.

It is the second time in two days the Colts have signed a player from the CFL. They added 6-foot-5 receiver Duron Carter on Monday.

Heenan is one of three Canadian players to play in the East-West Shrine Game following his final college season.
