Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler, WR Eddie Royal reestablishing chemistry

Quarterback Jay Cutler and wide receiver Eddie Royal shared the field for one season in Denver back in 2008. Royal was a rookie set career-high marks for starts (15), receptions (91) and yards (980); Cutler made his only Pro Bowl that season.

This spring, Cutler and Royal were reunited with the Chicago Bears. Recently, Royal spoke about the QB-WR chemistry he and Cutler once forged as Broncos, according to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson.

"It didn’t come easy," Royal told ESPN. "It wasn’t like we just got on the field and everything just happened. We put in the work, the extra time in the film room, doing all the little things so that it would pay off on Sundays. That hasn’t changed so far. We’re putting in the same amount of work—if not more—right now, just trying to do everything that we can do so that we’re successful on Sundays."

Perhaps rekindling the old relationship will work wonders for both quarterback and receiver. Cutler has come under fire for sloppy play as of late, and Royal has never replicated his rookie success. The two Bears will try to bring out the best in each other in 2015.
