Cam Newton explains why he ripped Packers sign down

Cam Newton wasn’t about to let the Green Bay Packers have a homefield advantage on his turf at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Sunday.

Prior to leading his Panthers to a 37-29 win over the Packers, Newton saw a pro-Packers banner hanging over a front-row wall and tore it down:

Newton then went out and threw for three touchdowns and 297 yards in leading the 8-0 Panthers to another win. What’s his message? There’s no celebrating the opponent in his territory. He explained just as much after the game when asked why he tore down the banner:
