Buffalo Bills Snap 3-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The Buffalo Bills came away with a much-needed road victory vs. the Cincinnati Bengals, evening their record out at 5-5.

Coming off a bye week, the Buffalo Bills are looking to get back to their winning ways. This week they were on the road against a solid Cincinnati Bengals team.

The game got off to a tough start for the Bengals, as star wide receiver AJ Green went down with an injury and was carted off the field. The Bengals weren’t able to do much on their first drive.

On Buffalo’s first possession, they were able to move the ball right down the field.

LeSean McCoy  had a 21-yard run on his first carry. Tyrod Taylor had two nice completions — an 18-yarder to Reggie Bush and a 24-yarder to Robert Woods. They were able to finish the drive with a 7-yard run by McCoy to take a 7-0 lead.

The Bengals answered back by driving down the field and scoring on a 2-yard run by quarterback Andy Dalton. The extra point was no good, to make the score 7-6.

Buffalo started the second quarter with a Stephon Gilmore interception. Gilmore was able to take the ball down to the 5-yard line. Although they couldn’t get a touchdown, Buffalo finished the drive with a 26-yard field goal by Dan Carpenter to take a 10-6 lead.

The Bengals once again answered back by driving right down the field into the Red Zone. After the Bills looked like they were going to stop them, the Bengals scored on 1-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd.

The Bengals missed another extra point and the score was 12-10 late in the second quarter.

Buffalo finished the first half with LeSean Mccoy injuring his thumb, Stephon Gilmore picking off his second pass of the day and Tyrod Taylor throwing his first and only interception of the day.

The Bills would start the second half with LeSean McCoy still in the locker room getting his thumb looked at. The Bills were able to move the ball down the field and score on a 54-yard field goal to take a 13-12 lead.

The third quarter finished with the same score.

Buffalo started the fourth quarter finishing their long drive with another field goal, taking a 16-12 lead. Most of the fourth quarter saw both teams going back and forth not being able to score. The game came down to the last seconds of the game, but the Buffalo Bills’ defense did the job to secure the win.

With the win, the Bills get past their toughest part of the schedule. Of their six remaining games, only two look like a real challenge.

At the very least, the Bills have a chance to finish with a winning record this season.
