Bills RBs Mike Gillislee, Karlos Williams come up big with LeSean McCoy out
The Buffalo Bills only put up 16 points in their win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, but it was enough to sneak by Kellen Moore and the inept offense of Dallas. For as few points as the Bills scored, though, they dominated on the ground despite being without LeSean McCoy.
In McCoy's place, rookie Karlos Williams and third-year pro Mike Gillislee carried the load, and did so with big numbers. Williams rushed for 76 yards on 17 carries, while Gillislee added 93 yards of his own on just nine attempts. They combined to rack up 206 yards from scrimmage in the win and showed just how deep the Bills are at running back going forward.
It wasn't just Williams and Gillislee that dominated on the ground, either. Tyrod Taylor added 67 yards rushing on 14 attempts, himself. With his big rushing day, Taylor set a franchise record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in Bills history.
The trio of Williams, Gillislee and Taylor were obviously no match for the Cowboys' run defense as they were almost impossible to defend. The Bills may not have much to play for right now, but their rushing attack looks extremely dangerous for years to come.
