Arizona's Wells active for 1st time this season

Published Sep. 26, 2010 5:29 p.m. ET

Arizona running back Beanie Wells was active for the first time this season in the Cardinals' home opener against the Oakland Raiders.

Wells injured his right knee in the final preseason game and underwent minor arthroscopic surgery, although the Cardinals had said it was a bruise.

Two Oakland starters were inactive: left guard Robert Gallery (hamstring) and wide receiver Chaz Schilens (knee) - both already had been declared out. Safety Hiram Eugene (hamstring), cornerback Chris Johnson (neck, ankle) and defensive tackle John Henderson (foot) and cornerback Walter McFadden (hamstring) also were out for the Raiders. The four had been listed as questionable.
