TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) The Arizona Cardinals have released Lyle Sendlein, the team's starting center for the past six seasons.
The move saves the Cardinals just over $3 million in salary cap space.
Sendlein made the Cardinals roster as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Texas in 2007. He made two starts that year, then became full-time starter in 2008, part of an offensive line started all 20 games of Arizona's regular season and playoff run to the Super Bowl.
Sendlein was voted team captain for three straight years from 2010 to 2012. He started 81 consecutive games before a knee injury ended his 2012 season.
