NEW ORLEANS (AP) People familiar with the decisions says the New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms on free-agent contracts with linebacker James Laurinaitis and safety Jamarca Sanford.

The people spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday because the deals have not been announced.

The 29-year-old Laurinaitis, who starred at Ohio State, has played for the St. Louis Rams throughout his seven NFL seasons. The Rams, who'll play in Los Angeles in 2016, released Laurinaitis as he headed into the final year of a five-year contract signed in 2012. Laurinaitis was in on 61 tackles to go with one sack and an interception last season.

Sanford joined New Orleans during the 2014 season. Last season, he was credited with 14 tackles and an interception.
