49ers center returns from rib injury

San Francisco 49ers center David Baas has returned to the game after being sidelined with a left rib-cage injury.

It appeared Baas was hurt when a couple of Rams players fell on him late in the first quarter Sunday. The team said his return was questionable but Baas returned in the second quarter and made the snap on Michael Crabtree's 60-yard touchdown catch to put the 49ers ahead 14-12.

Baas has started every game at center, taking over after Eric Heitmann broke his left leg in the preseason. Last year he started every game at left guard.
