Josh Smith's tenure in Houston has been incredible, so far. While not the most efficient scorer in the world, Smith's playmaking ability is what makes him most valuable on a Rockets team that only has one other serious ball-handling threat.
But he's a free agent this summer. Will Houston bring him back? Rockets general manager Daryl Morey recent answered that question in a wide-ranging interview with ESPN.
"We’re pretty focused on now, but obviously pretty much everyone on this team, we’re going to be focused on trying to bring them back. We got quite a few free agents, Josh Smith is one, we're going to address in the offseason. We feel if our team can keep executing, we feel like we can keep getting better with the group that we have here."
Smith is still playing at a high level, and his demand this summer could be higher than most expect. The Rockets will have some real competition for his long-term services.
