The Golden State Warriors stand one win away from matching the NBA record for most consecutive wins (15) to start a season, a mark currently held by the 1993-94 Houston Rockets and 1948-49 Washington Nationals. On their way to that milestone, however, the Warriors matched an all-time team on Friday night.

With Golden State's victory over the Chicago Bulls, the 14-0 Warriors equaled the 1957-58 Boston Celtics for the best start by a defending champion in NBA history. That Celtics team featured Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, Tommy Heinsohn, Sam Jones and Bill Sharman. And while you might think the NBA from almost 60 years ago would be unrecognizable today, this video might change your mind. Those Celtics finished 49-23 and lost in the NBA Finals to the St. Louis Hawks. Following that defeat, however, Boston went on a run of eight consecutive titles. So let that be fair warning to the rest of the league for the next decade. These Warriors might be around for a long time.
