Was Jeremy Lin's contract a steal for the Charlotte Hornets?
Jeremy Lin's two-year, $4.3 million contract with the Charlotte Hornets was barely acknowledged as a noteworthy signing. But the 27-year-old point guard didn't have as bad a year with the Los Angeles Lakers as most might think.
No, Lin isn't an All-Star, or even worthy of a starter's role. But he has specific skills that are very useful in the modern game—particularly scoring out of the pick-and-roll. Was his contract a steal?
FanSided's Swarm and Sting took a look right here:
Last season, nearly all Lin's advanced stats were higher than his two-year tenure with the Houston Rockets. That's a positive sign considering Lakers head coach Byron Scott refused to put the ball in Lin's hands in high pick-and-roll situations—which is where he's best utilized.
How will he do on the Hornets next season? Lin's outside shot still needs to improve, but as a permanent backup behind Kemba Walker he should at least be more comfortable than ever before.

Last season Lin averaged 11.2 points per game and 4.6 assists last season and also per 36 minutes he averaged 15.7 points and 6.4 assists. These are some great numbers for a player who is only set to make two million next season. There are other players this past off-season that got way more money to be on the bench for the next few years.
