Wade hugs mom during delay before Game 1

Dwyane Wade took advantage of a few extra minutes before the start of Game 1 of the NBA finals - to go hug his mom.

There was a slight delay between the introduction of starters and the actual beginning of the game between the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. So Wade, his warmups already off, slowly ran down the court, reached over some photographers and wrapped his mother in his arms.

The sellout crowd, most of them in white to support the Heat, roared its approval.

Wade calls his mother Jolinda ''my hero.'' Jolinda Wade is now a minister, after battling alcohol and drug problems while her son was growing up.
