Report: Kobe asks teams not to give him any more farewell gifts

When the Philadelphia 76ers presented Kobe Bryant with a framed variation of his high school jersey this week, it seemed like the start of a farewell tour for the Los Angeles Lakers guard that would feature a healthy helping of gifts. But if Bryant gets his way, that one token of appreciation will suffice.
As first reported by Bleacher Report, Bryant has asked that teams not give him any on-court gifts or hold any ceremonies that might distract from the games:
Bryant's request doesn't seem to say anything about off-court gifts, however, so we're assuming that ideas like naming a black mamba after the Black Mamba are still on the table.
