Former NBA journeyman Rick Brunson has been charged with attempted criminal sexual assault and aggravated battery after allegedly grabbing an employee at a fitness center in suburban Chicago, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The charges stem from a June 25 incident at the Life Time Athletic Center in Vernon Hills, Illinois, and also include criminal sexual abuse, according to police.

The NBA veteran, 42, played for eight different teams from 1997 to 2006, including the Trail Blazers, Knicks, Raptors, Celtics, Rockets, Bulls, Sonics and Clippers.

Brunson, who played for Temple University in college, was reportedly a candidate to be the Owls' next assistant coach.

His son, Jalen, who will be a senior at Stevenson High School in suburban Chicago, is ranked as one of the nation's top high school prospects.
